In Congress, Trey Gowdy Asks: SRSLY, How is Cannabis Worse Than Cocaine?

Look up Trey Gowdy (R-SC) in Wikipedia and you'll find the following: "Before his election to Congress, Gowdy was the solicitor (district attorney) for the state's Seventh Judicial Circuit, comprising Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties. From 1994 to 2000, he was a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina. In 2014, Gowdy became chairman of a House Select Committee to investigate the 2012 Benghazi attack." (bold text added)

Law and order guy, right?

Then listen to his starkly realpolitik questions to a director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. If he were a teenager he might as well have said "WTF?"

Gowdy is exceptionally polite and allows the ONDCP representative wide latitude in answering (what are really rhetorical) questions about why cannabis is a Schedule I drug while cocaine (powder and base) and methamphetamine are Schedule II.

The American Cannabis Report strongly supports this type of questioning current drug policy regarding cannabis - a policy we believe cannot be defended by any rational person.
