LA Cannabis Task Force Calls Urgent Meeting to Redirect LA's Confused Policy

LA City Hall has proposed cannabis regulations that run counter to the express wishes of Governor Brown, the City's emerging cannabis industry, and the will of the people.*

On behalf of its deep and experienced executive team and Advisory Board; its strategic partnerships with United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) and the United Cannabis Business Association (UCBA), thousands of Los Angeles cannabis business owners, workers, patients, and activists, the LA Cannabis TASK FORCE is calling an:

Take action NOW to fix LA's flawed proposed cannabis regulations and ensure responsible regulation of local businesses.

WHY

With the 60-day public comment period for the proposed LA Cannabis regulations ending in August, we must come together now and take unified action so that the City responsibly regulates cannabis businesses in Los Angeles.

This meeting will lay out our blueprint for public action in the run-up to final regulations. It is imperative that every stakeholder attend and commit to taking action on behalf of our community. This is an opportunity to make sure you are heard. Consider this your call to action. This meeting is a must.

* There is no question about the will of the people in Los Angeles. In November nearly two out of three voters in the city of L.A. supported Proposition 64, a statewide initiative to let adults grow, buy and use recreational marijuana, according the the LA Times. A few months later, an overwhelming 80% of LA voters voted Yes on Measure M, which authorizes a licensing, taxation and regulatory structure for cannabis businesses in Los Angeles.
